What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic seeks to prevent and treat health problems by using spinal adjustments to correct misalignments, or subluxations. The brain and nervous system control all the body's functions partly through nerve branches that exit from the spinal cord between the vertebrae. Slight spinal misalignments are said to interfere with the function of the nerves as they exit the vertebrae, thereby reducing input to the end organ.  The result of this can cause a lowered immune system (ie more susceptible to colds and illnesses), reduced mobility, and pain.

My Favorite Testimonial

This is the story of a patient of mine, Mattie.  Mattie began seeing me for wrist pain and stiff neck, but has stayed with me for the health benefits of chiropractic.

One fall night Mattie came in for her regular visit when she stopped, sneezed, and naturally said "excuse me". My automatic response to her was "Bless you! I hope you're not coming down with something!" With that comment I was about to hear one of the most honest testimonials to Chiropractic.

Mattie took me by surprise when the usually quiet lady exclaimed, "Heck no!! I'm not getting sick! I have a chiropractor! I've been working in the ER now for 6 months and every day somebody is calling in SICK SICK SICK! But not me! My immune system is great because I have you helping me help my body work better.  Every day I tell my co-workers....Don't you get tired of catching flu bugs and colds? As a result, 3 of Mattie's co-workers are now living healthier lives too!  Way to go Mattie!
